Ghinwa Dumyati, MD

Ghinwa Dumyati, MD, is an infectious disease physician and a Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She has research support by the CDC and the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH). Her interests focus on surveillance and prevention of healthcare associated infections and resistant organisms. She is presently leading a project to implement antimicrobial stewardship programs (ASP) in several nursing homes in Rochester, NY and is a consultant for the NYSDOH project tilted “Components of a successful antibiotic stewardship program in the LTC setting”. Dr. Dumyati is a Fellow of the Society of Healthcare Epidemiology (SHEA) and a member of the Infection Advisory Committee of AMDA-The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine.
