Professionally, I took the long road to provider status: from a nursing assistant, to a LPN, to an ADN, to a BSN, to a MSN focusing on adult/gero and acute care. I have worked in a wide variety of settings through the years - from long-term care, to a long-term acute care hospital (LTACH), to the ED, to the CICU, to subacute rehabilitation...I like how no one day is the same in healthcare; I like to keep a brisk pace; I enjoy complex cases most; and I am always looking to grow. Shout out to my collaborating physician - Dr. Mark Jackson. He’s the best of the best, and also the reason I’m attending the annual AMDA conference for the first time.
Personally, I married the best guy I know in October. We have a goldendoodle pup named Tucker (who I’m totally obsessed with). We just bought our first house, and are learning (very quickly) that HGTV is not real life. I find some of the greatest pleasure in cultivating and maintaining relationships. Finally, I have never met a sweet treat I don’t like; if I get diabetes, I’m in big trouble.
